This Wednesday and Thursday, April 21st and 22nd, to honor Earth Day, Liquid Blues inaugurates its weekly Hippy Dippy ("Tonight's forecast: Dark. Continued dark throughout most of the evening, with some widely-scattered light towards morning.") Cuisine night. This event will regularly occur every Wednesday night in conjunction with our blues, classic rock, bluegrass (and Sitar) Open Jam, and will feature unique retro fare reminiscent of the 60's such as falafels, humus(the dippy part), pitas, and unusual (not your usual) salads. Remember your secret transcendental mantra (repeatedly) and visit your OM away from OM.

This week the specials will be offered both Wednesday and Thursday in honor of Earth Day. Click on the link below to print a coupon good for 1 free falafel pita on either April 21st or April 22nd.

UPCOMING EVENTS:

April 24th - The Ben Miller Band

Ozark stomp: Ben Miller might just be the best juke joint vagabond in the Midwest

The Ben Miller Band, a Springfield-Joplin based three-piece, sounds exactly what I want an Ozarks folk band to sound like — loud, dirty, but smart and beautiful at times. Listen to their songs “Jagerbomb Song” and “No War in Heaven” back-to-back and you’ll know what I mean. But I think the band describes their sound best on their MySpace page: “We call it Ozark Stomp. A mix of old style blues with bluegrass, zydeco, folk, hip-hop with a driving beat. The hip-hop portion usually only comes out at the live shows.” The guys quit their day jobs three years ago and now they play live five nights a week.

May 15th - Spring Jam - 10 bands

A COUPON FOR A FREE FALAFEL PITA HAS BEEN SENT TO YOU AS A SEPARATE EMAIL. (Only to Subscribers)
